Traditionally, a lawn or garden tractor was required to pull trailers, move snow and mow hillsides. Unfortunately lawn tractors do not offer the speed and maneuverability that a zero turn offers. Cub Cadet combined the best of both with the i-Series Zero Turn Tractor.

i-Series tractors start out with a 1-piece frame (not bolted together) and have added to it a specially designed, oscillating, cast-iron front axle with grease fittings. This axle is unique because of how it works. Most lawn tractors connect the steering column to the front axle with tie rods and a drag link. Cub Cadet's i-Series utilizes a dual cam gear system on top of each steering king pin to make sure that each wheel turns precisely where it needs to be to facilitate a zero-degree turn.

To the rear, Cub Cadet chose simple, dual IZT transmissions meaning that the variable output hydrostatic pump and wheel motor are assembled as one unit for simplicity. Unlike any other zero turns, the transmissions on the Cub Cadet i-Series are timed. This means the left and right rear wheels of the tractor are matched in both speed and direction to each other as well as the steering angle of the front wheels. This is all accomplished with very simple and rugged mechanical linkage which all comes together in an enclosed junction box.

Not only does having a zero turn mower with a steering wheel make the Cub Cadet i-Series tractor the easiest to learn to operate but it's also the only zero turn that makes it almost impossible to deface your lawn. On conventional zero turns where the rear wheels aren't timed, it's very easy for an operator not to keep the inside rear wheel rolling through a turn. This causes the inside tire to ?drag? rather than roll through the turn causing turf defacement.

Driving the cub Cadet i-Series is as simple as any of Cub Cadet's other tractors as both speed and direction are controlled by foot pedals. The harder you press the ?Go Forward? pedal the faster you go, just like your car. And to go backwards, simply let you foot off the ?Go Forward? pedal and press on the ?Go Backwards? pedal. No shifting from forward to reverse! To turn the mower, simply turn the steering wheel as you would on a standard tractor. Turn it far enough and your Cub Cadet i-Series will perform a true zero-degree turn.

Engaging the mower deck is as simple as throwing a lever (mechanical PTO) or pulling a knob (electric PTO). With Cub Cadet's RevTEK system, you can simply press a button to disable a safety system allowing the mower deck to run with the tractor moving both forward or in reverse. Competitive brands don't accomplish this as easily or simply as the RevTEK system.

Cub Cadet's i-Series zero turn tractors come in three cutting deck widths: 42-, 46, and 50-inch. Deck height adjustment is a breeze with the right-rear-fender mounted lever. Cleaning your mower deck has never been easier due to Cub Cadet's deck wash system. Simply attach the included fitting to your garden hose, plug the hose fitting into the deck fitting, turn on the water and engage your mower deck. The water is directed towards the center of the deck and the spinning blades fling air and water to help loosen any attached grass. This system works pretty well if you do it right after you mow but not at all if the grass has dried.

Need to do a more thorough cleaning, grease your spindle bearings or remove your blades? Pulling two spring-loaded pins is all that's required to remove your mower deck. Removal is literally a 30 second job and only 60 seconds to reinstall.

Maintenance is a snap on Cub's i-Series tractors. The engine air filter, fuel filter and oil filter are easily accessed when the tilt-up hood is raised. Draining the engine oil requires no tools as all Cub Cadets are equipped with an EZ-Drain fitting. Simply flip open the dirt cover, attach the included drain hose, push in then twist the fitting and oil will begin to drain right into your bucket! No tools, no mess.

The warranty on Cub Cadet's i-Series tractors is 3 years or 180 hrs. We recommend these tractors for yard sizes up to 2.2 to 2.7 acres, depending on deck size.

Grass Baggers
Add a grass bagger to any Cub Cadet i-Series tractor for added versatility. Baggers come in 2-bag configurations for all three deck sizes. After the initial installation, Cub Cadet's baggers attach and detach from your tractor in seconds with NO TOOLS! To empty the bagger simply tilt forward the hinged hood, lift the bag from the frame and dump! It's that easy!

Bagger kits are model specific and come with everything you need to install on your tractor. Some kits come with one or multiple mower blades specifically designed to improve bagging performance. Contact us for details on a bagger for your mower. Some machines do a better job than others collecting grass and we'll be happy to recommend the right mower for your application!

Snow Blades
Add a snow blade to any Cub Cadet i-Series tractor to tackle mother nature. The 46" blade features a spring-trip steel moldboard, adjustable skid shoes, one straight and two angled positions and the ability to raise and lower from the operators seat.

It attaches in seconds with only two spring-loaded pins (included). For optimal performance, we recommend adding a set of tire chains and wheel weights.

At first look this blade isn't the heaviest thing that Cub Cadet makes but the price is really good and we've had ZERO problems with customers damaging them.

Snow Blower
For the ultimate in snow removal, add a snow blower to any Cub Cadet i-Series tractor. This 42" wide blower features 2-stage operation, adjustable skid shoes and the ability to not only raise & lower the blower from the operator's seat but also control discharge chute rotation and pitch.

It attaches in minutes with two spring-loaded pins (included) and a pin-on power-drive subframe. For optimal performance, we recommend adding a set of tire chains and wheel weights.
