When STIHL set out to design a chainsaw specifically for fire and rescue personnel, they only had to look as far as their own backyard – the Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD) – for professional input. Highly respected throughout the country for their expertise in rescue work, the VBFD has been actively involved throughout the design of the specialized STIHL “Rescue” chainsaw. STIHL chainsaws with an (R) designation are equipped with a wrap-around handle.
